The state of California has designated nearly 1100 sites as California State Historical Landmarks. I'm in the process of attempting to visit and photograph each of these historic locations. The photos offered on this website show the historical landmarks of California and their surrounding areas. Each photo is supplemented with a transcription of the inscription on the plaque of the landmark. Users navigate the site by its local search engine, a clickable image map of the state of California or by a list of the landmarks.
