History

Gegründet wurde die Stiftung im Juli 1977 durch den Beschluss des Deutschen Gewerkschaftsbundes, die Vorläuferorganisationen "Hans-Böckler-Gesellschaft" und "Stiftung Mitbestimmung" zusammenzuschließen. Im Jahre 1995 wurde das Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaftliche Instititut (WSI) als Forschungsabteilung in die Stiftung integriert.
