This site is a joint project of the National Library of Canada and National Archives of Canada. It features a digitized version of the National Archives' 1994 exhibition 'First Among Equals'. The site replaces and builds on two earlier Web sites, Canada Speaks and Prime Ministers of Canada: 1867-1996, which were funded by the SchoolNet Digital Collections Program of Industry Canada in 1996. This new site also incorporates additional speeches. The site features photos, transcriptions of speeches, and biographical notes on Canada's prime ministers.
