Bethlehem Digital History Project

By

[Project Director] Maynard, Julia C.

The Bethlehem Digital History Project provides access to source documents that illuminate key elements of the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania community from 1741 to 1844. The site includes art and artifacts, community records, early education, maps, music, personal papers, teaching materials and visitors' accounts. Many of the sources are in German script. "Every effort was made to provide German transcriptions and English translations for each source; however, some documents are accompanied by the English translation only." As it is an ongoing project additional materials will be added. A site index informs about currently available and soon to be added materials.
