The John and James Booker Civil War Letters

This collection consists of ca. twenty-six items, 1861-1864, chiefly letters of two twin brothers; electrostatic copies of Bible records; and electrostatic copies of typed transcripts of the letters. These documents give a sense of what life was like for an ordinary soldier serving in the Confederate army. The site entails the text and image versions of the letters, explanatory material, and a bibliography.
