H-WEST is a moderated electronic discussion group encouraging scholarly discussion of the history and culture of the North American West and frontier. H-WEST's discussion list "is designed for scholars, researchers and teachers, and is open to all methodological and theoretical approaches." H-WEST also posts a variety of academic announcements (calls for papers, conference announcements, seminars, etc.), provides reviews of publications central to the field, and offers online resources (bibliographical aids, syllabi and other course and reference material). The discussion list maintains an online archive of its posts and is updated weekly.
