These interviews focus on the transition of the Marrowbone Creek area from a largely agrarian to an industrial economy and the change local residents both experienced and shaped. Interviews with miners and local residents who remember the working conditions, labor battles, and social and financial costs incurred by area residents trying to survive in the new economy. [self-description] The site gives access to short summaries of the original texts located at University of Kentucky Special Collections and Archives as well as to some digitized transcripts.
