"Religious pluralism in late Republican and early Imperial Rome": The project investigates the pragmatics and semantics of religious pluralism in the city of Rome. Its aim is not so much the reconstruction of "Roman religion" as the exploration of the actual religious practices, and the means of cohabitation and conflict in a metropolis of about 1,000,000 inhabitants of diverse ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds.
