Metasearch-Engine

Meta-Search Engine

A single query supplies results that would previously have required a detailed knowledge of different database systems and practices. The meta-search engine makes it possible for historians to search for the historically relevant materials in multiple heterogeneous databases. It thus bundles high-quality databases and full-text retrieval through a significant selection of historically relevant sources from interdisciplinary databases together with an overview of specialized databases. By integrating not just catalogs and databases for secondary sources, but also a number of primary source databases, the meta-search engine makes a comprehensive of not only the relevant secondary literature, but also lesser-known archival sources and specialized litereature.
