Electronic Publishing

Internet-based publications are more often than not volatile: Websites are changed or deleted, contributions supplemented, changed or dropped altogether. This makes new standards in electronic publishing necessary, ones that enable a durable archiving and linking of online publications. The document server operated by the university library and the computing centre at the Humboldt University offer the technology and logistics to enable the long-term archiving of electronic publications. In cooperation with the libraries participating in the project, Clio-online is developing strategies for the safe collection and documentation of electronically published texts.
